About This Journal

The Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities (JASH) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published quarterly by Qassim University. The journal aims to advance research in the Arabic sciences and humanities. Its mission is to publish original and rigorous studies that contribute to cultural, social, and intellectual development.

JASH welcomes submissions in both Arabic and English across disciplines such as Arabic language and literature, English language and literature, and translation studies, history, geography, sociology, and social work. It values theoretical and conceptual innovation, empirically grounded research, and interdisciplinary approaches that enrich scholarly debate and expand understanding of human society and culture.

This journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing.

Journal History

Qassim university founded the Journal of Arabic and Human Sciences and in Arabic as Majallat Al-ʿUlūm Al-ʿArabiyyah wa Al-Insāniyyah in January 2008 as a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to research in Arabic studies and the humanities. The journal published its first printed issue in the same year and was registered under the Print ISSN (P-ISSN 1658-4058). In response to developments in academic publishing and the growing importance of digital dissemination, the journal transitioned to an online-only publication format in 2017. This transition did not affect the journal’s name in either English or Arabic, editorial policy, or academic scope.

In July 2022, the Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities (JASH) was established as a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to research in Arabic studies and the humanities as successor to Journal of Arabic and Human Sciences. The journal was registered with an Electronic ISSN (E-ISSN 1658-9602) and published its first volume in the same year

The journal is issued quarterly and publishes articles in both Arabic and English, reflecting its mission to serve as a bridge between Arab scholarship and academic communities.

Over the years, JASH has maintained its commitment to scholarly excellence, rigorous peer review, and ethical publishing practices. By focusing on disciplines such as Arabic language and literature, English language and literature, and translation studies, history, geography, sociology, and social work, the journal continues to foster academic dialogue and contribute to cultural and intellectual development.

Publishing schedule

JASH is a quarterly journal and publishes four issues per year: general issues are released in January, April, July, and October.

The publication languages of the journal are Arabic and English.

Digital Archiving

The journal is preserved in CLOCKSS and Portico, the two leading preservation archives that guarantee persistent access for the very long term.

Articles also receive Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) from the CrossRef organization to ensure they can always be found.

Abstracting and Indexing

JASH is abstracted and indexed by EBSCO and classified in the ArciF (Arab Citation Index) database.

It is also registered with the ISSN International Centre under both print (ISSN 1658-4058) and electronic (ISSN 1658-9602) formats.

نبذة عن المجلة

مجلة العلوم العربية والإنسانية مجلة علمية فصلية محكَّمة، مفتوحة الوصول، تصدر عن جامعة القصيم. تهدف المجلة إلى نشر البحث وتطويره في مجالات العلوم العربية والإنسانية. وتتمثل رسالتها في نشر دراسات أصيلة ورصينة تُسهم في التنمية الثقافية والاجتماعية والفكرية

ترحب المجلة بنشر البحوث باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية في تخصصات: اللغة العربية وآدابها، واللغة الإنجليزية وآدابها، و دراسات الترجمة، والتاريخ، والجغرافيا، وعلم الاجتماع، والخدمة الاجتماعية، وتولي اهتمامًا خاصًّا بالإسهامات النظرية والمفاهيم المبتكرة، والبحوث الميدانية المتكاملة التي تُثري الحوار العلمي، وتوسّع آفاق الفهم الإنساني والثقافي.

تلتزم المجلة بمبادئ لجنة أخلاقيات النشر العلمي (COPE)، وبتحقيق أعلى معايير النزاهة الأكاديمية والممارسات الأخلاقية في النشر العلمي.

تاريخ المجلة:

أسّست جامعة القصيم مجلة العلوم العربية والإنسانية في يناير 2008، بوصفها مجلة أكاديمية علمية محكَّمة، متخصصة في نشر البحوث في مجالات الدراسات العربية والعلوم الإنسانية. وقد نشرت المجلة عددها الورقي الأول في العام نفسه، وسُجِّلت برقم دولي معياري للدوريات المطبوعة (P-ISSN 1658-4058).

واستجابةً للتطورات في النشر الأكاديمي، وتزايد أهمية النشر الرقمي؛ تحولت المجلة في عام 2017 إلى نظام النشر الإلكتروني الكامل. ولم يؤثر هذا التحول في اسم المجلة، سواء باللغة العربية أو الإنجليزية، ولا في سياستها التحريرية أو نطاقها العلمي.

وفي يوليو 2022، اعتمدت المجلة اسمًا إنجليزيًّا جديدًا، هو Journal of Arabic Sciences and) Humanities)؛ وذلك اتساقًا مع مسماها العربي، وبما يعكس بصورة أدق طابعها المتعدد التخصصات، واتساع حضورها الأكاديمي.

وقد سُجِّلت المجلة برقم دولي معياري إلكتروني (E-ISSN 1658-9602)، وصدر مجلدها الأول في العام نفسه، واعتُبرت المجلة حينها مجلة جديدة؛ تماشيًا مع إرشادات لجنة أخلاقيات النشر (COPE) والممارسات القياسية في النشر العلمي.

تُصدر المجلة أربعة أعداد في السنة، وتنشر باللغتين العربية والإنجليزية؛ لتكون جسرًا بين البحث العربي والمجتمعات الأكاديمية.

حافظت المجلة عبر مسيرتها على التزامها بمعايير التميّز العلمي، والتحكيم الدقيق، وأخلاقيات النشر العلمي. وتُسهم المجلة - بتركيزها على تخصصات: اللغة العربية وآدابها، واللغة الإنجليزية وآدابها، و دراسات الترجمة، والتاريخ، والجغرافيا، وعلم الاجتماع، والخدمة الاجتماعية، - في ترسيخ الحوار الأكاديمي، وتطوير المشهد الثقافي والفكري.

مواعيد الإصدار:

تصدر المجلة بشكل فصلي، حيث تنشر أربعة أعداد في السنة، تصدر في أشهر: (يناير، وأبريل، ويوليو، وأكتوبر).

تعتمد المجلة في نشرها اللغتين العربية والإنجليزية.

الأرشفة الرقمية:

تُحفَظ محتويات المجلة رقميًّا في أرشيفَي(CLOCKSS) و(Portico)، وهما من أبرز أنظمة الحفظ الرقمي التي تضمن الوصول الدائم وطويل الأمد إلى المحتوى العلمي.

وتُمنح البحوث المنشورة معرفات الكائن الرقمي (DOI) من منظمة (CrossRef) ؛ لضمان إمكانية الوصول إليها دائمًا.

الفهرسة والاستخلاص:
