About This Journal

The Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities (JASH) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published quarterly by Qassim University. The journal focuses on advancing research in the humanities and social sciences, with the aim of fostering dialogue between Arab scholarship and global academic debates. Its mission is to publish original and rigorous studies that contribute to cultural, social, and intellectual development locally, regionally, and internationally.

JASH welcomes submissions in both Arabic and English across disciplines such as Arabic language and literature, English language and translation studies, history, geography, sociology, and social work. It values theoretical and conceptual innovation, empirically grounded research, and interdisciplinary approaches that enrich scholarly debate and expand understanding of human society and culture.

This journal follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing.

Journal History

The Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities (JASH) was established in January 2008 and is published by Qassim University through the Center for Scientific Publishing and Translation. Since its inception, the journal has served as a peer-reviewed academic platform for original scholarship in the humanities and social sciences.

Initially published in print with ISSN 1658-4058, JASH adopted an online-only format in 2017 to align with emerging publishing practices. In 2021 (Volume 16), it transitioned fully to an open-access electronic platform under ISSN 1658-9602, expanding accessibility and extending its reach to a global audience. The journal is issued quarterly and publishes articles in both Arabic and English, reflecting its mission to serve as a bridge between Arab scholarship and international academic communities.

Over the years, JASH has maintained its commitment to high standards of scholarly excellence, peer review, and ethical publishing practices. By focusing on disciplines such as Arabic and English language studies, translation, history, geography, sociology, and social work, the journal continues to foster academic dialogue and contribute to cultural and intellectual development at the local, regional, and global levels.

Publishing schedule

The Journal of Arabic Sciences and Humanities (JASH) is a quarterly journal and publishes four issues per year: general issues are released in January, April, July, and October.

The publication languages of the journal are Arabic and English.
