Editorial Board Governance Statement
JASH maintains full editorial independence from its publisher, Qassim University. All editorial decisions — including acceptance, rejection, revision, retraction, and corrections — are made exclusively on the basis of scholarly merit and in accordance with the journal's published policies. No individual, institution, funder, or commercial partner may influence editorial decisions.
Editors who have a conflict of interest with any submitted manuscript — including personal, professional, financial, or institutional connections with the authors — must recuse themselves from all editorial decisions regarding that manuscript, notify the Editor-in-Chief, and the manuscript will be handled by an independent editor.
The journal monitors authorship patterns to detect and prevent editorial endogeny (the disproportionate publication of papers by editorial board members or host institution authors). The editorial board membership and performance are reviewed annually to ensure appropriate disciplinary expertise, geographical diversity, and career-stage representation.
Board members are expected to: uphold COPE guidelines in all editorial activities; respond to peer review requests promptly; and declare conflicts of interest in all roles.
