Abstract English

The paper is entitled “Attitudes of social workers working in the medical fields towards participating in developing social policies in the health sector in Qassim region”. It aims to study the nature of social workers' attitudes working in the medical field towards participating in developing social policies in the health sector. It determines the relationship between some personal, professional, and institutional variables of social workers and these attitudes. It also presents proposed mechanisms to enhance their positive attitudes. This research is descriptive and relies on the social survey method of (65) social workers working in the medical field in the Qassim region. Data were collected using a scale designed by the researchers. The results showed that there are positive attitudes among the majority of the research sample towards participating in social policies development in the health sector. The results also showed the need for social workers to acquire more knowledge and develop the necessary skills to participate effectively in developing social policies in the health sector.

الملخص العربي

هدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة طبيعة اتجاهات الأخصائيين الاجتماعيين العاملين في المجال الطبي نحو المشاركة في تطوير السياسات الاجتماعية بالقطاع الصحي، وتحديد العلاقة بين بعض المتغيرات الشخصية والمهنية والمؤسسية للأخصائيين الاجتماعيين وهذه الاتجاهات، وتقديم آليات مقترحة لتعزيز الاتجاهات الإيجابية لديهم. يعد هذا البحث من البحوث الوصفية، التي اعتمدت على منهج المسح الاجتماعي عن طريق العينة للأخصائيين الاجتماعيين العاملين بالمجال الطبي بمنطقة القصيم، وبلغ حجم العينة (65) أخصائيا اجتماعيا.  وجُمِعَت البيانات باستخدام مقياس من تصميم الباحثين. وقد أوضحت النتائج وجود اتجاهات إيجابية لدى غالبية عينة البحث نحو المشاركة في تطوير السياسات الاجتماعية بالقطاع الصحي. كما أوضحت النتائج حاجة الأخصائيين الاجتماعيين إلى اكتساب المزيد من المعارف وتنمية المهارات اللازمة للمشاركة بفاعلية في تطوير السياسات الاجتماعية بالقطاع الصحي.
